Since 2010, I’ve been helping people connect. A lot of this work has to do with posture, because how we carry ourselves impacts our balance, our confidence, our health, and the way we interact with the world around us. And my students joke that they’re getting taller! Of course, we can’t add inches, but we can choose how we use each inch of height we do have.
Tips for how to use this book:
Posture is a practice you cultivate. It’s about building awareness and good habits – and to build new habits and create new neural pathways for ourselves, repetition is key. With this in mind, the Little Posture Book is full of little reminders, imagery and cues to help build new posture patterns, to help you build a daily posture practice.
"I thought about what you said all week: 'Friends don't let friends slouch'," caregiver Mary Swensen said as she showed us her straightened posture.
"Awesome gem of a book. Strongly recommended!"
– Brenda Barceló, Owner & Instructor, Essence Pilates - Online Studio
"I keep my copy next to my vitamins and supplements. Every morning, I read a page of the book as part of my wellness routine." – James Dreier
"I think about my own posture more now and corrected my friend's posture, too." – Terry Benioff
"Eyes on the prize," I'd tell my student. He'd lift his head a bit, gaze still angled downward. "Make your prize a little taller," I'd say and he'd laugh, raising his head some more. ❤ I felt so happy to hear another student, friend & reader of the Little Posture Book recount that story to me and share that it has been a useful reminder for him.
