Gabriela Condrea is an Argentine Tango teacher and author of the book, When 1+1=1: That "Impossible" Connection. Gabriela teaches tango with the idea that the connection comes first and that if you build a good connection, the possibilities are endless. Each tango is unique and each person brings something exceptional to the dance. Dare yourself to become "connected" to another. Try one or all of these exciting and challenging classes! (Bio & Teaching Philosophy)

Saturday, March 9th

2:30p-4:00p Fundamentals of Four-Leggedness (All Levels)–

Dancing/living as a four-legged creature implies the vulnerability of collaboration and the gratification of feeling heard, of feeling like your partner's two legs are yours and vice versa. It requires a flexible mentality, in which the ultimate goal is to work together to maintain the connection as you move through space and time.

4:15p-5:45p Tango is About the Connection (Adv. Beginners and beyond)–

Gabriela has shared her approach to tango through the prism of connection across the country, both through her book When 1+1=1: That “Impossible” Connection and her tango teaching. This is her signature workshop: an introduction, a reminder, an excuse to slow down and listen, really listen to one another so that connecting becomes the foundation of the dance. From there, the possibilities are endless. Tango is about connecting with your partner, with those who share the space with you, and with yourself. Tango is About the Connection.

Sunday, March 10th

2:30p-4:00p Presence: A New Flavor of Chocolate (Intermediate +)–

This workshop will focus on developing presence, intention, and depth for a richer conversation. Learn to subtly tease out new flavors and nuances in your dance.

4:14p-5:45p Feel the Music; Be the Music (Adv. Beginners and beyond)–

The tango couple is a musical instrument; both partners contribute to musical interpretation and participate in the conversation with the orchestra. In this workshop we will explore a multi-dimensional approach to connecting and playing with the music we dance with.

5:45p-6:45p Open Argentine Practica:

Free for all Saturday and Sunday workshop participants. A great opportunity to practice and put into play what you have learned over the past 2 days!

PRICING:

In advance: both days $95, 1 day only $50   |   Day of: full day $60 / Individual workshop $30

Gabriela on teaching tango:

“I teach tango with the idea that the connection comes first; that if you can build a good connection, the possibilities are endless. Tango is about what is, not what should be. Each tango is unique and each person brings something exceptional to the dance. Since the tango couple is more than just the sum of its parts, you can’t dance tango by yourself. Tango is about the connection with your partner, with those who share the space with you, and with yourself.” (video -->)
